MEET MARISA
Hi! I’m Marisa, owner of Clinton Creamery, and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of this amazing community. Believe it or not, my story with ice cream started long before Clinton Creamery. I began working at an ice cream parlor in high school and stayed throughout college while earning my bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing. What started as a high school job turned into more than 6½ years of experience, a love for the business, and eventually, a career I never expected. I originally thought I’d end up planning events in the city.
Turns out, ice cream had other plans.
FROM EMPLOYEE TO OWNER
Eventually, I had the opportunity to purchase the ice cream parlor from its previous owner, and I took the leap. More than nine years later, I’m still doing what I love. Today, I’m the proud owner of Taylor’s Ice Cream Parlor in Chester, NJ, a beloved local establishment with more than 70 years of history. There’s something incredibly special about keeping an old-fashioned ice cream parlor alive. The homemade ice cream, familiar flavors, and simple experience of getting a scoop with people you love can instantly bring you back in time. That feeling is what made me fall in love with this business in the first place.
THEN CAME COFFEE..
After my husband and I welcomed our son, we decided it was time for another adventure. We opened Cream & Sugar in Randolph, NJ, a coffee shop, kitchen, and ice cream parlor that gave me the opportunity to dive into an entirely new world. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with coffee too. Between Taylor’s and Cream & Sugar, I’ve been incredibly lucky to build businesses centered around something simple: good treats, good people, and places that feel like part of the community. And none of it would be possible without the amazing teams behind them. I’m endlessly grateful for the people who have helped bring each shop to life.
AND THEN THERE WAS CLINTON
This little corner has been on my mind for years.
I’ve had my eye on the corner shop at 1 Main Street for a long time, so it still feels a little surreal to finally call it ours. Even better? This very spot has been an ice cream parlor for more than 30 years. We aren't here to take away what made it special. We're here to bring that feeling back. A neighborhood ice cream shop where you can walk through the door, order your favorite scoop, sit with people you love, and feel like you've stepped into a simpler time.
